Dee is the designer and stylist behind the Murphy Deesign interior design firm, with projects on the West and East coast, and the editor of the Murphy Deesign blog, which covers fashion, lifestyle, travel, decor and family.
Her aesthetic is collected, eclectic and refined, mixing modern and vintage with a flair. Known for her mastery of mixing patterns, colors and styles, Dee’s spaces are one-of-a-kind and warm, with an “old-world” appeal.
Dee’s home will be featured in the 2020 House Beautiful spring issue, as well as in Emily Henderson’s soon to be released second book. Dee’s work has also been featured in the March 2018 issues of Traditional Home and HGTV Magazines, as well as in Domino, My Domaine, Design Sponge and Rue Magazine.
She was a 2018 finalist in the Modern Maverick category for Domino Magazine’s Design Blog Awards, as well as a 2017 finalist. She was also one of six finalists in the HGTV Faces Of Design Awards in the category of Kid-Tastic Spaces.
Dee draws her inspiration from her family, her travels, and the endless originality and creativity of her home state of California where she loves to explore, surf, eat and search for endless photo ops with her husband Patrick, son Parker, and daughter Avery.
